I'm not sure if it's the guitar yet ... a little surprised that there wasn't much difference in volume or tonal quality from the 710ce-ltd I parted with (however, that was a very exceptional 710ce-ltd that I had ... I chose it over several others) ... I did like the sound over my favorite 2002 814-ltd that Buffalo Brothers got as it has more depth across the board, but especially in the trebles. However, I do think it's a bit too trebly overall and the bass needs to develop more before I really like it ... but with such a tight grained top, I think this will eventually happen ... I'll just need to wait at least a year before it starts happening.
I haven't played it against anything except for the two guitars mentioned above, so I haven't decided where it fits in or if it's going to be one of the regulars pulled out or one of the ones that just gets pulled out occasionally. I'm mostly curious about how it sounds against the PS-15 (which right now has gotten louder, but is really bright and needs to fill out a bit). I'm also wondering how it compares to my Macassar Ebony/Adirondack since both have dense b&s and stiff top. I'll probably play it against the D-45GE also.

I just finished doing a preliminary comparison between the 810 and the aforementioned guitars ... and I like it. I found the sound similar between the 810 and Macassar Ebony CJ, though the Macassar Ebony had a fuller tone, especially in respect to overtones ... both had similar volume. I found that the PS-15 had a deeper bass and the 810 to be more trebly. As for the D-45GE, they were totally different, though the quick comparison might sound similar to the PS-15 (though the PS-15 and D-45GE also sound very different from each other).

back (http://www.stringsnthings.org/hsguitar/TSguitars/MEBcoco05.jpg)
side (http://www.stringsnthings.org/hsguitar/TSguitars/MEBcoco06.jpg)
I just saw what might be a TaylorStock cocobolo/redwood ... Cindy fretboard inlay, PS headstock inlay and bridge inlay, cocobolo bridge and peghead veneer if I remember correctly ... forgot body size ... actually, I forgot whether it has a cutaway.

Mary.....
....your Cocobolo is gorgeous......but.....the heck with that one.....
Just kidding. BUT ..... the other one you described sounds like it MIGHT BE MINE. ........IT LIVES !!!!!!!!!!........
It's certainly a close match anyway.....it has a dark cedar top...could easily be mistaken for redwood at a glance.....were you back at the shop? Can you tell me anymore? Mine had a possibly completion date of October 16th.
Please, Please, Oh Please......

Who has the Cocobolo with the Mustangs on the fretboard? I saw it 2 days ago in final inspection and it is drop dead beautiful. The sapwood forms a sky and the sides just look like a desert/foothill landscape, just spectacular! We see a ton of guitars come through and once in a while a few of them jump out at you. Most of the ones that have drawn me in during the past few days always seemed to have the "taylorstock" phc.
You guys sure ordered great looking guitars, I can see these beautiful works of art being family heilooms, they are that good! Congrats to all!:)

Mike Carter got the guitar you are talking about. Here is the thread where he describes how much he likes it.

So Matt ... what were you and Bob talking about behind my back today? :)
And even though I didn't get to talk to you today, since you've read this thread you know ... I got a guitar yesterday ... and I do think I like it. :)
And Rick, I'll try to get that picture of a guitar up later tonight ... and yes, I could have easily mistaken a cedar top for a redwood at that distance ... and it was right behind a light (though the light wasn't hitting it very well) so it was difficult to tell.

Mary!!!
Just came from your page!!! That's my guitar!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
I knew from your description that it had to be the one.....cocobolo bridge with inlay, Cindy on the neck, etc. It also has the cocobolo rosette which pretty much nails it.
But....it's got a pickguard. :( Which I'm sure explains why it's still there.....the pickguard was probably spotted during a final comp with the order sheet and had to come off.
Otherwise, I hope all else is well with it.....and I certainly hope the inlay on the back came out nice also.
It sure looks lonely hanging there all by itself...Do you recall what area you spotted it in?
Thanks again Mary.....this is the very first glimpse of it.....and I'm sure you know just how much that means to one.

Hi Mary,
Just got a look at your 810-LTD page. Nice job, as always!
And just to add my vote of thanks for keeping us (me) somewhat sane during the last month while simultaneously driving (me) us all crazy!!
Although our 810-LTDs have different detailing, your cocobolo is a close cousin to mine!
Thanks again for the great job you did!:)

Rick, it was on the wall in final inspection ... I'm not exactly sure why they put guitars up there because sometimes there are guitars are up there and other times there aren't any. I'm glad I spotted yours ... I almost missed it since it was pretty dark ... but my eye caught a "Cindy" and I figured it had to be something. :)
Joe, thanks for the compliment. I figured you guys would get on my case if I tried to pass my Factory pictures as pictures of my guitar. I won't be doing the official ones for awhile since I have to set up the lights and backdrop ... so I'll be waiting until I get at least one other guitar before doing those.
I'm sorry I haven't seen your guitar since that first time ... but there are so many places that guitars are kept that it's impossible to find a specific guitar, even if you know what department it's most likely in ... it's really all luck to catch a glimpse of it.
I know you'll love the guitar when you get it ... maybe it's just sitting somewhere in finish waiting for it's neck.

Mary, can you imagine what it would have been like for me if I had never seen a glimpse of my 810 from your scouting? If I had received the guitar without your pictorial forwarning that the wood set had been reversed AND if it came in with Gothic insterad of Gothic Vine inlay -- well, I would've been very disappointed to say the least!
BTW, how many TS guitars are still unaccounted for? seems like we've only seen pics of about half of the 50+ so far.

Joe, all I can say is I think yours is going to turn out great. It's going to be a guitar you're going to love ... though I have to say that I do think my set of cocobolo is the best that I've seen at the Factory. :) Though I did see Doug L.'s (I think it was his), and I think I really like his as well.
Now all I have to wait for is my PS-10. At the Factory I brought up a dream I had where Buffy slammed the guitar against the wall and koa splinters went everywhere ... they told me not to think that way ... and also informed me that PS guitars aren't buffed by Buffy. You could hear a sigh of relief for miles ... but I haven't seen it for awhile now ...
