OK YOUSE GUYS (and gals),
We won't look as slick as Mr. Rick (he's an awesomely talented guy, yes?), but we are ready to rock and roll (or folk and fingerstyle).
3 days of fun and music are planned for November 9, 10, and 11, and everyone is invited to join in.
We will have several TS guitars for your viewing, listening and playing? enjoyment (at least you can play mine, so long as you handle it with loving care)....
We will have a seminar on playing out by Bagelsgirl (www.elizabethroth.com) on Saturday morning (10:00) at Doug L's condo (the site of all the planned Saturday events), our kickoff event. We will also have a music dealer demo'ing PAs, powered speakers and acoustic amplifiers for our open mic session that day (and this condo is on the beach, in case you are so inclined)
We will have some Sunday jam sessions at the hotel (more on the hotel in a moment) and then go to olde towne St. Augustine for Sunday afternoon to see Bagelsgirl at the Mi Casa Cafe, perhaps have a libation or two, and then dine together before heading back to the hotel for more music and mingling (til your fingers wear out).
The hotel is http://www.wellesleyinnandsuites.com/hotels/wl07.shtml
and we have a special rate of $49 a night (twin queens or single king). In Doug's words " Their normal weekend rate is $89. I told him we would need between 5-10 rooms and he said no problem. He did ask that people book as soon as possible because they fill up almost every weekend. When people call in have them ask for the "Taylor party rate of $49 per night authorized by TC".
"This hotel is brand new, has a continental breakfast, micro and refer, and the beach and pier are right across the street. The hotel is about 2 miles to my condo and 4 miles to the historic district. I think there is no better deal going in St. Augustine. Especially, on the Island!"
Monday, after trashing the continental breakfast, we'll have some final music & mingling sessions and say our goodbyes as we head back home around noon.
I've already made my reservations, and asked that we be located near each other. The sooner you commit and get reserved, the more likely that will happen.
Please let me know (via email --- my link is live) if you are planning to attend, and if you will be staying in the hotel, so that we can get an idea of the size of this gathering.
Look forward to seeing old and new friends, and their Taylor guitars.
Tom
