OK YOUSE GUYS (and gals),

We won't look as slick as Mr. Rick (he's an awesomely talented guy, yes?), but we are ready to rock and roll (or folk and fingerstyle).

3 days of fun and music are planned for November 9, 10, and 11, and everyone is invited to join in.

We will have several TS guitars for your viewing, listening and playing? enjoyment (at least you can play mine, so long as you handle it with loving care)....

We will have a seminar on playing out by Bagelsgirl (www.elizabethroth.com) on Saturday morning (10:00) at Doug L's condo (the site of all the planned Saturday events), our kickoff event. We will also have a music dealer demo'ing PAs, powered speakers and acoustic amplifiers for our open mic session that day (and this condo is on the beach, in case you are so inclined)

We will have some Sunday jam sessions at the hotel (more on the hotel in a moment) and then go to olde towne St. Augustine for Sunday afternoon to see Bagelsgirl at the Mi Casa Cafe, perhaps have a libation or two, and then dine together before heading back to the hotel for more music and mingling (til your fingers wear out).

The hotel is http://www.wellesleyinnandsuites.com/hotels/wl07.shtml
and we have a special rate of $49 a night (twin queens or single king). In Doug's words " Their normal weekend rate is $89. I told him we would need between 5-10 rooms and he said no problem. He did ask that people book as soon as possible because they fill up almost every weekend. When people call in have them ask for the "Taylor party rate of $49 per night authorized by TC".

"This hotel is brand new, has a continental breakfast, micro and refer, and the beach and pier are right across the street. The hotel is about 2 miles to my condo and 4 miles to the historic district. I think there is no better deal going in St. Augustine. Especially, on the Island!"

Monday, after trashing the continental breakfast, we'll have some final music & mingling sessions and say our goodbyes as we head back home around noon.

I've already made my reservations, and asked that we be located near each other. The sooner you commit and get reserved, the more likely that will happen.

Please let me know (via email --- my link is live) if you are planning to attend, and if you will be staying in the hotel, so that we can get an idea of the size of this gathering.

Look forward to seeing old and new friends, and their Taylor guitars.

Tom

You already know that I'm coming. I just have to decide if I'm flying or driving. Now that I know Jacksonville is only 750 miles away from me I may drive. It would only take a day each way and it would cost me less than flying or taking the train. I still haven't decided yet, but I'll be deciding real soon before it's too late to get a plane ticket.

I also have another idea. Since I'm going to the NC gathering also the Sat. before, I was thinking it would be fun to rent a cabin or something in between NC and Jacksonville for the week and then drive the rest of the way down on Fri. Here's the thread I started on that:
http://209.197.232.179/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11180

If any of you guys have suggestions, then I'm also open to them. I just think it would be crazy for me to drive DC to NC, then NC to DC, then 5 days later DC to JAX, and then JAX to DC. That's alot of driving in a week!

Besides, if I drive then I can bring all of my guitars with me. If you have any suggestions or just want to tell me I'm plain crazy, please let me know. I look forward to Nov. coming.

OK well all of you people going that are flyin' solo on this one (if any of you exist), let me know if youre interested in sharing a room...

I cant really afford to be paying for airfare, a rental car, AND 150 bucks for a hotel (even though thats a GREAT deal, Doug, and thanks for the legwork on it!)

Anyone want a roommate for the weekend? Im easy to live with...Ive had roommates here at school all of freshman and sophomore year! (fortunately, ive been on my own the last 2 years now)

I hear the front seat in a Chevy Cavalier reclines quite a ways...could be my home for the weekend :D

I'll split a room with you if you promise to bathe and stuff. :D

Oh, wait, I'm not going. :(

I really REALLY wish I could attend! Having two very young kids is wonderful, except when you want to travel. :(

Bring the kids then!

I'm still waiting to see a picture of your family. I don't know if I even believe you have one, just like I didn't believe you existed until I saw you in person. ;)

Come on down J.R.! Bring those youngins with you, we'd love that, it would be fun.
Now your wife may feel differently and really learn to hate anything connected with the TGF after a trip like that

We were coming, but we don't have a dogsitter for our greyhounds. We don't just kennel them anywhere. I am really sorry that we are going to miss it. St Augustine is one of our favorite places and we would love to see you guys and our relatives in Palm Coast.

Have a great time!

Mark
