If you don't mind teaching me some songs, I'm up for playing (don't tell anyone!). HA! I know we don't live too far from each other.

There has been a pretty active NoVA/MD/DC group in the past. I went to two gatherings in the past year (DC and Warrenton), and then went inactive online for a few months while I moved (to Leesburg). Unfortunately that thread isn't available anymore apparently.
Time for another NoVA/MD/DC/PA gathering?

I'm in Northern VA (or close enough). I'm down with getting together, schedule-permitting.

The dc gathering (most recent gathering) threads are still there. might have to look at the bottom of the page and adjust the 'number of days' box to 100 days or so to find it. in fact the recent gathering has 2 threads. one has pictures of the gathering thanks to Steve. for me, it was a great day and I am looking forward to doing it again. I am hoping to host again too. It would be hard for me to do it again during the holiday season. Sometime this winter or in the spring is a good possibility. Just too many other things going on to host now. However, the idea of playing with a couple of folks between now and the end of the year, and even having (ir)regular sessions really appeals to me. Anyone wants to pursue any of those possibilities, please contact me. Will be out of town Friday-Monday. Back Tuesday.

Sounds like the last gathering was well attended and a lot of fun and good music. Time to plan another one?
BTW - anyone gone to one of these? Or taken lessons there? http://www.levineschool.org/site/Calendar?view=Detail&id=101861

Hi,
I'm also looking for people to play guitar with and luckily found your posting. I live in Falls Church, if that isn't too far from where you are. I am 34-years-old, if that isn't too old. I play mostly acoustic these days, but would be glad to dust off the Stratocaster if need be. I am up to playing most anything, although I am really a classic rock fan at heart. Let me know if you're still interested, what type of music you like to play, and what you have in mind, as far as meeting up to play. Feel free to send me a private message if you want. Thanks!

I don't mind the old guy -- how about the middle-aged chick with a lot to learn? :D
I live in NoVa right near Tysons and could host at any point. We have large downstairs and an acoustically sound room.

Jim, you won't be the old guy! I'm 31 and I always feel like one of the younger guys! I'm in falls church too. if you ever want to try out some handmade acoustics, let me know and we can jam

Eric:
You probably met Jim, I am pretty sure he was at the last DC get together at Jeff's house.

Well, as long as Pat M. and I show up you guys are definitely not the "old guys"...hell you can't even spell old yet! I'm 54...and Pat...well, he looks like he might be older than 31 :)
Seems to me there's interest in getting together sooner/more often? I know we've had 3 gatherings in the last year (I made 2). I'd like to see them more often.

Pat M here:
I'm older than dirt. Actually, I am a good double of ericsong's age, and less than half of his talent. I've got to get working a bit more on that fingering technique. With all of the discourse on this thread, be sure to connect with the other one going on about a planned gettogether in late February early March in the DC area. If the past two are to be the norm, it will be a "not to be missed" gathering.
