The NS54 Imbuia has arrived!
Haven't had much time to play her due to a mix up --
Everyone who is dealing with the incredibly nice Mr. Steve at Guitar Trader -- have him make sure your ADDRESS is on the label!!
I waited and waited and waited today for mr. ups to show up. He's usually in this area by two. Two came and went, and so did three o'clock. We washed and waxed two cars and a truck while waiting. I finally checked the tracking # online again, and it said that this morning, 9:45~, it couldn't be delivered because of a bad address and that a postcard had been sent out! An hourish later it said the package had been discovered and redirected. So I called. They held it for me and I made the 20 mile drive in rush hour traffic to pick it up. Whew! There it was on the label -- my name, phone number, city/state/zip. But no street address.
The 915 is due Wednesday, and I sure hope the address is on that one!
Took a quick photo:

Beautiful addition to the collection, Sandy. How does it sound?
BTW, glad it didn't end up in Singapore!

Can someone tell me about the tonal qualities/assets of imbuia? This is the first time I've seen it, and I'm pretty curious....

Lauren

Beautiful guitar, by the way!

Lauren- Ive heard that its reminiscent of walnut in some ways...a punchy but not particularly warm bass response with good clarity...

Cisco got an all imbuia 814, but other than that, im not sure who on the forum has imbuia guitars...I know some people have last years 3xx LTD imbuia models...

Joe -- I'll try to take some more pics when I can get it outside. That's the best lighting. I don't like taking indoor lighting pics with my camera. Too much of a perfectionist. Had to work 8:30 to 7:30 today, so this is my first chance to really relax. I'll take some pics of the DDSM, too. (the giant orange) The 915 is due tomorrow, so I think I will be busy with the camera.
I have a 314ltd from last year, which was the motivation to get the NS54. I love that guitar. (they smell good, too! very spicy) I think I need a different brand of strings on the new one. The ones the nylons come with can be a bit plasticy sounding.

Sandy WOW. What strikes me as I look at the back of your new baby is the beautiful grain in the set you chose. Great job you did picking that out! As more Taylorstock guitars come out and I see the great wood we were all treated to, and reflect how thankful we are for the opportunity. I look forward to more pics and discriptions.

Yes those stings are plasticy, you could try D'Adarrio EJ-16, there not plasticy
