C'mon!! This is a GUITAR forum!! What were you guys thinkin'?

Anyway, major thanks to cpmusic for hosting my pics and the site and the layout and................

http://www.cpmusic.com/taylorstock/mikea-ts.html

It plays as good as it looks, if not better. I was quite surprised by the silk in the Sitka top and am glad it came out in the pics. The bass is getting stronger everyday. It can get pretty jangly at times, but I'm really going to enjoy listening to this guitar open up over time.

Thanks for all the kind words everybody.

Never crossed my mind that it would be anything other than guitars . . . but of course, I remembered that you were doing the 6 and 12-string GA twins . . .

I did, however, find myself humming that song from the Coors Light (?) commercial:

"I love quarterbacks eating dirt, pom-poms in short skirts . . . and the twins"(or however it goes).

Congrats on your new 754, Mike! That's a beautiful instrument; I, for one, love the florentine cutaway. Thanks for posting the twins pictures as well - they're quite a pair! :)

With twins you will have to practice twice as much!:)

Looks REALLY sweet, Mike! Congrats! Do you find the x54 a lot more comfortable to play than the x55? I sure do!

WOW! Now these are the models I'm waiting to hear about. Please keep us (me) informed as to how the GA 12 string opens up. My Taylor dealer is really encouraging me to order one, and I'm seriously thinking about it. I love my 955, but the size is a problem fo me. I'm dreaming about tonewood combinations. So please update your impressions as time goes along. Thanks.

MAKE it a GREAT day!!!:)

Nice Mike.
I love the idea of twins. It'll look really cool on stage.

:( I sure wish I'd ordered a x54 too now. Do you love the sound?

Thanks again for the kind words everybody.

I love the way the 12str GA's sound. They could use a little more bass, but then again, my guitar is only 7 days old. It'll mature quite nicely over time the way my other sitka topped guitar has. If Taylor wanted a REAL super tone machine right out of the box, they'd adapt their new dread bracing system and meld it with the 12str GA bracing pattern, getting the best of both worlds. That'd be just about perfect!

J.R.- While the way that prototype 754 we saw on the wall sounded made up my mind, the first thing I noticed was the feel of a 12str GA. Like butta!

Talyor'sMitten:) : Keep in mind that the LTD's come out soon. You could go down to the store and play them and convince yourself that you don't need one:p!

No, Mike that would be too dangerous :)
Besides, if I bought it in El Cajon I could have chalked it up to excitement, insanity or various other maladies. Now it would just be plain, old calculated spending :D My hubby does want a boat one of these days and all my guitar expenses are kind of delaying that.

BTW, I like your idea of melding the new bracing with the new GA body for a super-charged 12 string!
