I just got home from seeing Graham Nash and David Crosby together in concert. Wow! What a great time that was! They did a super job. Graham Nash just took a large step higher in my estimation. He acted as frontman, doing more talking than Crosby though Crosby also interacted with the audience. David Crosby makes everything seem so smooth and effortless.

I was a bit surprised to see the degree of emphasis on electric guitars instead of acoustic guitars but they used both at times. Together with a drummer, bass player, and another guitar player they really kicked.

They did a mix of songs from their solo work, their work as a duo, and played several of the favorite CSNY hits. The encore was Teach Your Children as a sing-along with the audience.

They turned Wooden Ships into a powerful electric guitar performance that surprised and delighted everyone. Their performances of Long Time Gone and Almost Cut My Hair also really rocked.

For a couple songs, they did turn it down and play acoustic guitar or just harmonize while Nash played keyboard or Crosby played acoustic. (Crosby had a 12-string at times.) So there was a good mix of loud, electric guitars and some acoustic stuff too.

The guitar player in the band was, if I caught the introduction right, named Dean Parks. He was simply outstanding. The drummer was also excellent - Stevie D. (Stevie Di Stanislao I believe).

Quite a rousing evening and I loved it.
