....in an effort to settle some of the clamor....
Let it be known to all present that the TaylorStock guitars were priced out to us by the Taylor staff at essentially full retail on the 'menu' we were given to choose from.
From there, it was up to each individual to take that order/pricing sheet back to the dealer of our choice to 'officially' place the order with Taylor and to then discuss and negotiate the best pricing with said dealer.
So......the end price on the TS guitars depended highly upon the relationship and bargaining power any particular individual had or has with the dealer of their choice.
Overall, it was an excellent method. The dealers didn't feel side-stepped as they would have if Taylor had billed us directly. And, I feel, it helped nourish individual relationships between the dealer and the customer.
I highly doubt that *anyone* took their custom order through a Mars or Guitar Center. I'd be willing to gamble that the majority, if not all, went through a much smaller and 'personal touch' type dealer. I think my local dealer, Holloways Music, is about as excited to be delivering my guitar as I am to be receiving it.

.....and any of you can *BET* your best Taylor that I'll be starting a *BRAND NEW THREAD*....right here..... within hours....maybe minutes....of the time that new guitar sees daylight for the first time since leaving El Cajon.....
