Just got off the phone with Steve Parr. He said, "Get this guitar out of my warehouse!" I laughed and told him to send it overnight, so I should get it the morning!! Then I asked him if he had opened it up, and he said no. I said, "Crack that thing open and make sure it's okay!" So, Steve puts me on hold. The next thing I hear is a box opening. Then Steve says, "Okay, let me just open the case, and ..........." Utter silence. Continued silence.... more silence. Then, "Dave, oh my....... You're really going to love this guitar. The top is just flawless," Then he pulls it out of the case, and the next thing I hear is "Wow, that red purfling is incredible. And the abalone on top is stunning!!" He flips the guitar over, and finally makes the fateful proclamation....... "Dave, there have been a couple of Taylorstock guitars come through here that I didn't get to open. But of the one's I've seen this is the nicest one. I thought JR's was as good as it could get, but this may be just a little nicer."

Of course I'm grinning like an idiot. I told Steve, "JR's is gonna be mad. Get ready for the outrage because I'm going to quote you on the forum."

So tomorrow is the big day.

DAVID !!!!!!

....awwwrrrrrriiiigghhhhtttt....my MAN! How bout that.

I believe this to be the first TS Custom to hit the fine state of North Carolina...!! Ya dawg!!!

Remember the key word: PICTURES ! I sure wish I had a reason to hit Raleigh tomorrow. Instead, I'll be in a dentist chair, huffing down nitrous oxide at 1:30. At least I'll have something nice to dream about while gassed up. :)

Well....I'm sure we'll hear a report tomorrow.

OK.....now I'm upset.....a 2000 spec 912 with 1 7/8" neck being shipped and not a word for Tom (that's me!) .....and mine is even rosewood....Steve, steve, STEVE........what's up????? Was it something I said, or forgot to say......wahhhhhhhh!!!

Dave......we need some pictures.....I think Steve is a good judge of horseflesh....and I'm looking forward to seeing your new beauty.....maybe someday I'll be able to participate in the euphoria......got a contact buzz going with all the hoopla anyway!

Congrats.....let me know how DHL overnight works for you.

Dave!!! Congratulations! I talked to steve right after he hung up with you and he told me the same thing... Your guitar is definitely prettier than mine. That's okay. I knew that already! I saw your wood selection. Everyone was talking about your wood set that night... Yours and W5BLT's.

....But the REAL reason I'm mad.... is because Steve probably wont get my flamed mahogany 514CE shipped out this evening because he had to get your guitar out the door. :( Since you paid for overnight and I just opted for lowly 2-day service. :(

Ohwell! Honestly, I'm just as excited about seeing pics of your guitar. Well... almost. :)

Very cool, David -- I can't wait to see it. It's a good thing you had it sent overnight, 'cause after Steve's reaction I doubt you could wait another week! Congrats, and don't forget the pictures!

Hey the overnight was only an additional $46.95. That's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

I'm having it shipped home. My darling bride, Carol, will be home during the day. I'll be pacing at the office all day waiting for the guitar.

I won't be able to get any photos until tomorrow night after work, and I probably won't be able to send any until Thursday morning. Where should I email them?

You can send them to me and I'll put them up on a quick page like I did for Lisa's.

jmeinel@greenmonk.com

That email address can handle any size emails, so go ahead and send them all.

David, if you need a site for posting, you can send them my way. I won't be able to do up a page until the evening, but if I use my page as a template, it should go pretty fast.

Chris,

I believe you are on a dial up connection? If this is true I might go ahead and send the photos to Jennifer since I plan on taking a lot of photos:roll: . I don't want to fill up your in box or drive you nuts waiting for 50 megs of photos to download.

Congrats David. I remember sitting on the end of the stage when you made the decision that you wanted the Zircote for your guitar. I really felt sorry for anyone in your way as you took off for the wood selection area! Can't wait to see the pictures.

Mike,

Done deal! I just hope it arrives today. I was stupid and never asked Steve to give me a tracking number, so I won't be able to follow the progress of the item.

The excitement builds!!
