Very cool! I can't wait to see and hear this one -- it's bound to be one of the most unusual guitars of the bunch.

Ron,
Very anxious to see pics of the Imbuia 812. If I ever order a custom Taylor, it will be with Imbuia.

Aqualung my friend...
Actually Ian...Bob Taylor said it would be a mixture of a solid Koa and a solid Walnut. The reason I wanted one was I saw a Bass in the solid Imbuia with white binding...and man what a beautiful guitar , hence the 812, white binding and the Imbuia. With Bob's blessing, I think it should be interesting. Ed Alves told me he thought it was a cool looking guitar ! Now to hear what it sounds like ??????

Hey Sports Fans !!!
I went down to SD this morning (Friday) and picked up the 812 Imbuia Special. I must say I am more pleased than I thought I would. Until the pics are up this description will help. First it's not the dark chocolate brown that we see on the Bass Imbuia's. Not even as dark as the 3 series ltd's that came out. it's more like a honey gold brown, rather light. Wow the grain is crazy !! And the cool part is when I picked the wood Bob said ALL of it was from 1 piece of wood. So the front back and sides all have the same pattern !!!! You'll have to see in the pics. And the TRC is also made of Imbuia ! And even the Imbuia headstock and TRC grain all match exactly !! As if it has no TRC !!! Really cool. The sound, which I've not yet played it 10 min. is remincent of Koa, although if you close your eyes you might guess Cedar and Walnut. I've got to play it and see how it opens up. But I am a stoked peep, I'll tell you what ! So congrats to all of you, and one of Ian Anderson's 810 TS guitars was in. I didn't get to see it, I had to hurry back home. A special thanx to Steve Parr a true gentleman and a very nice guy. Thanx Steve

Here's Ronny-boys Imbuia 812!!!
By the way, Ron, I actually like it better without the cutaway, so it all worked out for ya (in my eyes at least!!!)
What a looker!
