Greetings!
I just found this forum a couple of weeks ago and joined. It took me a few days to realize that I didn't understand all the chatter about Taylor stock guitars. When I finally found out what it was all about I was stunned. I didn't know Taylor (or any company for that matter) did stuff like that. And that, of course, raises a question. Is this something Taylor is likely to repeat? (and how do I get an invite!) :)

There are no current plans to ever repeat the event.

However..........

The members of the forum enjoyed themselves immensely, and the word is that the folks at Taylor had a good time also.

It MIGHT happen again. If there was to be a Taylorstock II my guess would be at the very least two years in the future. This is not based on any kind of knowledge, but is strictly a will ***** guess on my part.

Hi, Steve! While we all certainly hope that Taylor will invite us into their home again, sadly, there are no plans for another TaylorStock at this time. However, Taylor is well aware of how everyone feels about the event, and the level of enthusiasm for doing it again. If they decide to invite us back, I'll work with them again to plan another event - in a heartbeat!

I think it's a safe bet to say that Bob Taylor enjoyed himself that weekend, despite what must have been a taxing task of ensuring all the wood was there, his staff taking time to schedule events, and just the amount of time involved.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happened asecond time...

One of the things that may present a problem for having another Taylorstock soon, is that the first one went a long way in depleting Uncle Bob's stock of premium woods.

As I understood it, he made available wood that he had saved for years because he thought it to good to use for anything but a very special situation. I know for a fact we pretty much cleaned him out, on many types of wood that quality. There was no more Master Cocobolo to choose from at the end, and the pickings were slim on the other woods as well. They went looking for more several times and came back saying that was it.

I think Uncle Bob would not want to cheese on this event, so it may take a few years to come up with enough exceptionally special wood for another Taylorstock. Bob said the wood sets on the tables represented one in about 10,000 pieces that came through the factory. I am sure that for the lower end guitars there is probably plenty of nice wood. My guess is that the high end stuff most the first Taylorstock guitars are made of, has to be very rare.

Just a thought.

I agree totally Mike.

A lot of people are a little too gung-ho for Taylorstock II just to get guitars. I'd have gone even if we didn't get guitars. To me that was just a bonus. Bob gave us access to wood that he'd been saving for quite some time. The Redwood tops we got he said are the only ones he'd ever found that were useable and they came from one log. That's it, there's no more.

Personally, I think Taylorstock II should be a similar event, just no guitars and more jam time. I'd certainly still go.

I'm in for a TSII. I'd even pay admission.

Agreed!! The guitars were a great bonus, but meeting the forum members was also fantastic.

Like everyone else I'm game for another national meeting at virtually any location.

I think a TS II with Bob picking out woods from his standard wood collection would still be a treat, as would meeting many of you.

Well that's a good thing, because there was admission for TS1, lol. :)
