I have one of these and it is a dream to play and sounds as good as or better than most of the $2000-3000 guitars.

Here's a curveball for you: Saga Gitane Maccaferri D500.

I had a similar mission to yours, in some ways. I wanted an acoustic to play fingerstyle on, I wanted a lot of projection and warmth and bass, but also plenty of sharp top-end cutting through. I tried out a lot of guitars (Martins, Taylors, Epiphones, Fenders, Simon & Patricks, Normans) and liked some of them and hated others. But this one was the one for me*–*vastly preferred its sound to all of the aforementioned, and to guitars twice its price. I guess it's partly cos I really like blues, and partly cos I first started playing on a classical guitar: the D500's sound is evocative of both blues/30s jazz while also having something of the tone of a nylon string, particular when you pick closer to the bridge. That it's extremely loud for an acoustic is also a factor. You even get something of the resonator when you hit certain harmonics (an effect of the metal bridge). I find playing country blues on it a real treat.

For just a bit more than $1,100 you can toss a used Martin OM-21 onto the consider list. I believe it meets the criteria you set. I played one recently while searching for much the same kind of guitar you describe and I keep thinking I should go back and buy it.

consider Martin 000-15 or 15S.

I will second this...BUT go play it for a long time before buying. Hog is a very different sounding wood and some may not like it much. I about sold my 000-15 when I first got it because it wasn't what I was used to. Now, I would not part with it for anything in the world...(exept maybe an OM v-neck):D

Also, consider the 000M, 0001R, and probably a used 000-18 for that price.

No, and I didn't say they are. I have seen, bought and sold them for same price as guitars from China.

My point was that the Larrivee factory shows the protected employee in the video and same for videos I've seen of Fender and Martin factories.

My bad dude... relax, I got the point loud and clear quite some time ago.
