Ok...you can all bow down at my feet and kiss them now in gratitude for the sacrifices I have been making with my tv watching in order to put these up. hahaha!!!!
I sure hope you like them. And we should all give Lisa a big round of applause for sitting down and learning how her scanner works so the pictures she sent weren't so huge. They were a perfect size. Yeah Lisa!!!!! :p

Hoo-boy, I still can't get over that ovangkol. It looks like something that would be reserved as master grade.

That TRC....hmmmm....looks like some sort of alpha omega...
Lisa, the grown up sorority girl?
I wanna hear stories!!!!!
:D
Lisa, the grown up sorority girl?
HA! You guys crack me up. I'm not telling anything. I must remain a woman of mystery
The TRC was made by a gal in Colorado. I wish the color in it showed up better in the photo. It is a gorgeous MOP background with flamed maple inlay for the lettering and crown. It is a design that I came up with. It stands for Alpha Omega beginning and end. I've had the TRC for a quite a while just waiting for this guitar to be built to showcase it.
Hey, that's a good excuse for a new guitar "Honey, I have this extra TRC with nothing to put it on, can I buy a new Taylor?"

Thanks, Ron. You make my guitar sound sexy :)
And Chris, your guitar is gonna be sweet too. I do think Bob brought out the best stuff for all of us. Lucky us!
I just hope he isn't saying "darn, why did I let them have all my good stuff" right now. :D
If I worked on these guitars I think I'd be wanting to take a bow, they are turning out beatiful!

Lisa.....
....your guitar has *completely* changed my biased opinion of the aesthetic posibilities of Ovankol..... It's gorgeous!!
Did I ever email you a full size photo of you and Cynthia with your wood?
Later...
Rick
Why thank you Mr.Crider. I am thrilled with it. As for the pics, nope I didn't get any e-mails from you but would love to have anything that you took of Cynthia and me since I am working on my Taylorstock photo album right now (12 pages down, 15-20 to go)
Anything you could send me would be greatly appreciated and would make the album even more special. :)
BTW, did that cocobolo of yours in the gallery have directions to Monroe on it? I have never seen so much info written on a guitar. It's gonna be gorgeous :D
Florida State university chapter...I bet you're on the wall of fame!!!
Uh, nope Ryan, that would be Cynbrad that is on the FSU wall of Fame (not kidding!) I was a very inactive Phi Betta Kappa.
What? Are you a psychic like that Cleo David Moore?

Lisa, I just installed gold Grovers on my 355c last night, and the transformation is incredible, so don't wait to install your gold tuners when you get them. I guarantee that you will love it, even if it means buying an extra set of strings, though the current ones are savable with a little patience. (Okay, a lot of patience!)

Chris...did you have to wind them on the post first, then pull them into the pin holes ?

Ron, that's sort of what I did. For the most part, I slipped the coil over the post, then anchored the string in the bridge, and then put the tab in the post hole so I could hold it while I wound it up. On the thinnest strings, I grabbed the end with needle-nose pliers and pulled it through the post a little more.
I was sure trying to wait a few weeks and get some use out of these strings. Maybe I'll just go ahead and get the gold ones...
what to do....

You can put the strings back on after you take them off!
Or at least I dont see why you cant...ive done it several times...it just takes a little attention at the tuning machine to make sure the end that has been cut doesnt pull out through the hole...
Is this bad to do?

When it comes to replacing Elixirs, I prefer to think of it as frugality, especially for 12-string sets!
You know I've never been a fan of Elixirs but his guitar sounds so good with them on that I am wondering if it will sound this good with another brand. The sustain on the low E harmonic goes for a full 25 seconds! Amazing!
