Here you go. And I even sacrificed part of ER for you guys. You should all feel really special now. ;)

http://www.greenmonk.com/Lisa/

If she sends me more then I'll add those too. Just click on the thumbnails to see a much larger version of the photos. If there are any bad links (out of the 4 on the page), then let me know.

Ok...time to watch Dr. Carter save the ER from disaster again.

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments :) Having this beautiful guitar around today sure made my week!
Jennifer, considering what little you had to work with, the page looks fantastic! Thanks for sacrificing your tube time for little 'ol me.

Ron, I did order the clear pickguard, I don't know, what do you think? My friend and guitar tech said sometimes the clear ones turn a little hazy from the adhesive after 5 years or so and he advised me to leave it alone. I am undecided.

For all those who may want to know, my serial number shows a start date of 9/19 and the completion date is the date on the left. So, Ron yours should be done today, right? I guess with the customs, the date they begin them is in the serial number and the the date they are completed is what is listed under the heading "DATE" on the sticker.

The pics don't begin to show the gorgeous englemann top with all the silking. I will have to shoot some more so I'll have some decent shots of this guitar. When I do I will try my best to send them in something smaller than billboard size Jennifer :)

I just know you guys are going to get yours soon. I am working on my Taylorstock album tonight, sorting the pictures and getting them ready for the album. The Taylorstock TRC will go in there for safe-keeping. Taylorstock sure was fun wasn't it??? I am so glad I went and met all of you, what a blast.

VERY COOL!

its engelmann right?

Thats EXACTLY what I had decided on until the rep told my dealer I couldnt get a 414 with engelmann...so I had to settle for a 914c :D

Really though, Im guessing ovangkol/engelmann is a perfect wood combo for me and someday in the future ill try to find something along the lines of what you got!

Congrats on the guitar and on being first!

Thanks Ryan :)
Sorry you had to settle for the 914
Yep, it's Englemann, and she sings sweet :) Plenty of bass too. It's a keeper. :D

What can I say...I'm just such a nice person. ;) (Don't reply to that Ryan!) You're just lucky one of my many "favorite" shows wasn't on. ER is just a show I "like". We'll see if you're as lucky next time.

BTW...the page sucks. It took 5 minutes to put together using Frontpage. I normally hand code most of my pages. I just didn't have time (before my shows) to really do something with it. Oh well, it works.

Smaller is better, but I can make the changes if you don't figure out how to scan the pictures smaller. You'll just have to remind me to teach you when I come out to FL. I can show you and Cynthia a TON of tricks. You'll impress your friends with the knowledge you will gain. hahaha! :p

Lisa,

Your guitar is BEAUTIFUL!!! I know you are very proud and happy to finally have it in your hands...

I must admit I am a little jealous because my guitars are still in CA. :( However, I am a big boy and will have to wait my turn!

I hope you enjoy your guitar while you recover from your trip to the dentist. I can't wait to see it "in person" at our little get together in St. Augustine. Take care and congratulations!!!

Best Regards,
Doug L. :)

Very, very nice Lisa. I'm very happy for you. I can't wait for Cynthia to get hers so you can get a picture of them side by side. Then, someday, we can get all of ours together!

Boy, that carmel color really comes out in those pics! Isn't that what you were wanting?

Lisa - very impressive pictures. I am amazed at the back of that baby. Thanks for letting me play it yesterday. The sound is absolutely amazing. I'm glad you received yours first - you deserve it (sorry I slugged you in the mouth, however, I do like the story about going to the dentist to get a tooth pulled yesterday - thanks for not blowing my cover).

I can show you and Cynthia a TON of tricks. Jennifer - do you think that those new tricks might help me ace bioorganic chemistry this semester?????

Mike A - I can't wait to get my guitar. I hope that one day soon we can get all three of them together - they are much like triplets.

I love the engelmann top.... sweeeeeet!

Well, J.R. I couldn't be happier with the top. It is so beautiful. I have got to get a decent picture of the grain so you guys can see it. My thanks to you and Ed for everything, it is a very special guitar to me.

The wait was certainly worth it for that beauty!!! The question is -- Can she sing?!?

Well, Gutch I have to say that this is one of the best sounding guitars right-out-of--the-box that I have ever heard. I'm not just saying that, this thing sings, rings and does that bass thing. The sound is full, balanced and has warmth and plenty of bass. I am totally in love :) The set up completely blows me away. The action just couldn't be better. It makes my 914c feel like it needs an overhaul.

Very, very nice Lisa. I'm very happy for you. I can't wait for Cynthia to get hers so you can get a picture of them side by side. Then, someday, we can get all of ours together!

Thanks Mike, that means a lot to me coming from you, da man with THE gorgeous 414 :)

Boy, that carmel color really comes out in those pics! Isn't that what you were wanting?

Most definitely. Funny thing, when I first looked at the neck I couldn't tell how great the tone matched the back until I got it in full sunlight. I wonder if they work with color corrected lighting when they pick out the necks?
It is almost as caramel as it appears in the photos, and is a very warm tone. It isn't nearly as greenish as I thought it would be. There are red undertones in this piece that didn't surface until it was finished.

I am totally thrilled with this guitar. It exceeded my expectations. Must be why it's a Taylor :)

thanks for not blowing my cover

As Mr. Spell would say YOU'RE WELCOME. I want everyone on the forum to think of you as a nice person

J/K, I know you love me and would never punch me unless I got my guitar first :D

So Lisa, How do you find time to keep reading and responding to the forum? I don't know if I'll be able to put mine down for the first week (so much for work). I'm gonna use it like maternity leave, do you think HR would go for that? Six weeks should be good.

The guitar is beautiful - Enjoy.

Lisa,

Your guitar looks great! I bet it sounds amazing also!
What is that side/back wood again? It sure
doesn't look like regular Ovangol.
I didn't notice if it has any electronics.

WOW!

Wow! I love that back! I've seen a couple of "quilted Ovangkol" 4xx's before, but yours hands-down takes the cake. Glad to hear that it sounds just as good as it looks too.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Jennifer, and Lisa for taking them. As someone who didn't get to attend TS2002 :( , it's fun to see what those who did ended up with.

VERY nice.......I don't think the pickguard takes away from it at all. Personally, I wouldn't bother trying to change it. Enjoy!

Very nice ... and now you won't be bugging me about looking for yours at the Factory :)

BTW, on Wednesday, I saw some Ovangkol with a gloss finish. Thought about taking a picture of it, but it was in one of those bins so all I could see was just the top part where it joins with the neck. It's weird because a few weeks ago I saw Rosewood with a satin finish. Both on their way to Europe.

How did the gloss ovangkol look? better or worse? just different?

Lisa, when I first saw that picture of your guitar's top, I wondered if it was Engelmann, but I thought "Nah, it's probably just the bright light, because you can't get Engelmann on a 400." Well, I guess it's just more Taylorstock magic. That top is beautiful, and if possible, I'd like to see a close-up of it.

I'll also suggest that if you have an authorized Taylor repair site nearby, think about having the pickguard removed to see what it looks like before a tan line sets in. That's such a pretty top that it shouldn't be covered, but if you decide you like the standard guard better, you can always get another.

They obviously used a top-quality engelmann top for that guitar. Perfect!

Lisa, what are they going to do about the tuners? Send you a set of gold hardware?

Just my opinion, but the pickguard looks great against the engelmann top. I wouldn't change it.
