I know there are some John Denver fans here on this forum, or just people who enjoyed his music. So I was wondering if anyone is going to Aspen this October? This will be the 10th anniversary get together remembering John.
There's several events and concerts planned for the week of the 10th-14th in October. I've always wanted to visit the Rocky Mountains, so I plan on going this year during that week and was wondering if anyone else here is going.

I know a couple of musicians who will be there. One of them is Martin [BassFan] who was a fun-loving AGF member here until he went computer-less. He and his gal are the biggest Denver fans I know. Martin sounds a lot like Denver. They live his lifestyle in the Rocky Mountains, they play his music, she's a pilot, they both devote themselves to environmental issues. If anyone here meets up with them, you'll know who they are - tall, blonde Nordics who look like Denver himself.

I'll have to keep updated on this fiasco. :D

WOW!!! Roy Rivers sounds and looks so much like John Denver it would have been something to see them play together side by side and let people guess, or would it be obvious? I never saw John live but if I get a chance to see Roy I'll feel like I did!

I agree - Roy Rivers looks a lot like John Denver. Is he a relative? My friend Martin doesn't exactly look like that, but he sure enough looks like he could be Denver's own son. I harass him because he's a 35-year-old who could pass for 19 or 20. Real nice kid though, and very talented.

Would somebody tell me more about this John Denver event in Aspen? Even PM me if you want. I haven't talked to Martin for some time now and would like to pass this info on to him and his gal. They're remarkably good about keeping up with anything 'John Denver,' but without a computer right now [and likely without TV either], there's a possibility they haven't heard about it. I know it would mean the world to them both. It would give me a good reason to contact them.

Thanks!

Tim,
It's a week held each October in Aspen, where people come together to celebrate, and remember John Denver and his music. It's been going on for years now, but this will be the first time I'll be able to attend. There are numerous concerts and programs planned for the week of Oct 10th thru the 14th. John's old band will be performing several concerts at the historic Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, the week will end with a special get together Oct 14th on the Windstar land. There's really to many things to list so here's some sites to check out for anyone interested.;)

The Windstar Foundation website is www.wstar.org
Another good site for info is john-denver.org

Thank you, String-Me-Along! I apologize for the delay in response. I flew back east to visit relatives and have just returned. The info you provided is very helpful.
