Only vote if you are planning to attend the post-Taylorstock TGF Florida get-together on November 9,10, and 11 in St. Augustine, FL.

We could split either or any of these right?

Speaking just for myself (don't know who else I'd speak for) I have ZERO interest in golf, I like the other 'g' word. ;)

Well I want to split with as many people as I can to defray costs...ill sleep on the floor and pee in the woods out back if I have to!

I really cant afford to do this with just airfare alone, let alone the whole she-bang, so if its gonna be a consideration, I need some roomies :D

In case there's any question, I'm too old to sleep on the floor.

I have a question about the condo. How many bedrooms and/or people can it accomodate so we'll know how many ways this can be split?

Well I'm looking for as cheap as possible. Free is always best. Poor people like Ryan and I need to spend as little money as possible. And after just building myself a computer (d@mn it's fast!!!!), I don't have money. I guess if need be I can always drive my truck down and sleep in it (I've done it before). Ryan...you can sleep in the front cab and I'll sleep in the bed.

As more details come out, I'll be able to give you a better answer.

Lisa & gang,

The condos are two bedroom/two bath and I was told they allow a maximum of six people per unit. I assume they have a fold out couch in the living area. One thing to keep in mind is the condo's have a full kitchen to possibly save costs on meals.

I am still looking into the hotels in the area. I will have more info available sometime next weekend. I have no preference as to where we set this up one way or the other. I asked tbondo to do a poll to attempt to please the masses. The good thing about having this event in early November is this is a slow time of year. We have many options with regards to price and availablity.

More to come on this soon...

Best Regards,
Doug L. :)

So if you actually did put 6 people in a condo, then the cost would be 53 bucks per person for 2 nights...that aint bad!

:D

I think having a large place where we could all interact would be great, rather than having just a huge block of hotel rooms, so if its financially and practically feasible (by practically, I mean that if others are as willing to stay with several people as I am...) then I think condos would be great!

FYI.....the hotel with golf is a conference center where we could get a banquet or meeting room included (with enough room rentals)...and four people could split one room......the condo does not have a room we could use (as far as we know), that room is over at Doug's place (reserved for the 9th), with time restrictions (I would guess, like done by 10:00 PM). The cheapy motel might also provide a room for group use with enough units rented to a group.......same 4/1 split if desired.

Becki points out.....320/6 is more $ apiece than 150/4 or 90/4......if we're just working the money part for the poor starving college students (undergrad and grad?) with two TS guitars (each) on the way.

Hey well Mr. Undergrad here only has one TS guitar on the way, but its a doozie and its taken care of funding for me for a loooong time :)

I'm really up for any option- sounds like you guys are all on the right track towards working something out, and that youve got your bases covered, so Im going to stay tuned closely!

If we are able to come, we will be staying with relatives in Palm Coast (about a 45 minute drive south from St. Augustine). I don't mind commuting and my wife can decide to come to some events or stay with her cousins and visit.

I hope we can make it.

I went ahead and voted, though we haven't finalized the idea of going yet. Both Wanita and I try to hit golf balls, so we would like to try to get in at least one round while we're there. So, I voted for the golf hotel, but we're totally open to other suggestions. We'll be driving down.

Ponce De Leon (Radisson Conference Center)....18 hole Donald Ross design....included in the room rate (according to the web)....a bit north of old town.

Terry,

Would love for you and Wanita to make it....how cool would that be!!!?? (Terry and I got together while he was in Orlando a couple of weeks ago and had a great time...another one of those guys who is just "learning" and plays great -- probably sandbags on the golf course, too!).

Wait a minute! You guys are from Florida, right. You can vote all you want but how will you tally the results? Will there be legal challenges? Will the Supreme Court have to decide the outcome?  Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Wait a minute Steve. We will be tallying all votes with the Fisher Price Voting Booth. It is guaranteed for accuracy for voters 3+ up.

Remember that it is South Florida that can't count votes, we are North Florida, thank you!

Ah Tom...

We will not be able to come, So remove 1 from the $150 vote.

Wanita has informed me that school is in session on Monday the 11th, so she will have to be here for her classes. Would have been a great time had by all. She did say that I could go without her, but a 15 hour drive each way without her wouldn't be any fun and I'd feel really guilty (lonely) leaving her behind.

I don't really sandbag on the golf course, it just happens sometimes I have a great day and those are the days that keep me coming back.

Everyone enjoy and if things change here we'll let you know.

hmmmm.....I think a business trip to FL for Nov. 8th is in order, Terry.

Then you can just stay the rest of the weekend. Let the government pay for you to hang out with us. ;)
