Hey FL AGF's- I'm putting together a last minute, impromptu jam session :guitar:@ my beach condo in Pompano this Saturday @ noon. Stratokatsu from Miami and (hopefully) Beach Bob from Palm Beach will be there, as well as another picker from my building. If you feel like jammin' and dont mind alittle road trippin' why not come on down (or up)!

PM me for directions. I appologize for the VERY late notice y'all .

What a great idea!! Sorry, I can't join you this time, but I'd like to take a raincheck and join you next time. Have you done this before? What type of music does this jamin' group tend towards?

What type of music does this jamin' group tend towards?

I think that's part of what we are going to find out, but in emailing back and forth with Sharkey, it seems we all have a bit of country influence. In recent years, my influences have been more towards blues, old rock and folk.

As long as they don't want to play too many chords with multiple numbers after them... I'll be OK. I'll take a camera anyway, just to have an excuse not to admit my inability! :)

Strat- You'll do fine here man. Just a good ol time pickin' the six, nice & easy:)

Rob- This is the 1st one, but if I were to guess I'd say we'll go heavy on the classic rock/folk rock side (JT, Neil, Dylan, CSN, Cat, British Invasion, etc.) with a dash of the blues & alittle country thrown in for good measure. We'll see & I'll be sure to post a folo up w/ pics. Stay tuned.

My experience with quick get togethers like this is that the music becomes almost irrelevant because people with interests like ours seem to find we get along so well, we often forget what we are there for.

Come, no matter what... The music will find its place.

MAN! Did we have a good time! I felt guilty about seeing it break up because I had to get back to Miami to be with family at a friend's house.

Sharkydude will put up some pictures. I don't suppose we got a picture of the Bulgarian waitress, did we?

AGF'ers,

A few shots from the impromptu jam @ Sharkydude's condo on Sat.. Cast of characters included yours truly, my neighbor Barry P (Martin D1), Beach Bob & his Bourg. and Stratokatsu & his GSRS.

Music was followed-up with dinner at Umberto's. Sorry- there are no pics of our Bulgarian waitress, but there is a dark pic of Stratokatsu & Beach Bob. A good time was had by all. Gotta make sure the Strat emails the "silly" songs ahead of time so we can all get them down prior to the next jam. We'll keep everyone posted about the next one....and I promise there will be more advanced notice this time :D

Wish I could have made this one Sharky. Maybe next time and with that longer notice I can figure out a way to make it that far south for a change.
Looks like fun to me !

Indeed, it WAS fun! Thanks to Sharky for hosting us. Nice view his place has :)

Check it out: Dennis and I *both* can play a C chord! Next get together, we will attempt the difficult-to-master G chord

Bob - I already know 4 songs that only require one chord...

I'll segregate my novelty songs in a different folder so we can have REAL fun and watch Sharky's face... :D
