May seem a little early, but mid June will be here on beautiful Chautauqua Lake soon! This is, buck for buck, the BEST 2 day bargain in history: John McEuen, Clay Hess, Peter Rowan, Sierra Hull AND Ryan Holladay (to name but a few!!!)...just click on the link! Jim Holler (http://trinityguitars.com ) will be there with a TRAILER full of primo new Martins and Larrivees; jammin' by the lake; great food; great company;
Last year, Pistolero's young pal, Adam Wright won the "Flatpicking Contest"--what a NICE kid--and made me weep! How'd you like to play with Clay Hess judging you (among others)? Any AGF'er's interested, PM or Email me-I can get you in some nice accomodations. I'll be bumping this now and then. :up:

Yes--kids are all over the place from strollers to toddlers, or infants, school age. Lots of places to run and play by the lake under the trees-picnic tables, grills. I *think* there may be some swings and teeter-totters there also-shelters, food stands. The whole thing...very family friendly! :up:

Thanks Folkstrum! Before, I've gone to these things alone. This one, though, I'm discussing with my family. Would like to bring the grandkids [and maybe my daughters??] too-- if they behave. :D

Folkstrum, I hate that I'll be missing it again, but as I already said I'll be in the Wayne Henderson contest. (Wish me lotsa luck- I WILL need it). Look for Matt Lindsey in the guitar contest, and my buddy Jack Lawrence is one of the judges. Btw, if you want to hear a HOSS of a guitar, be sure to take a look at Jack's new signature Martin that I'm sure he'll have with him. He'd be glad to show it to you. After Mayville he's on the road with Doc to Texas.

Allen-thanks--and LOTS OF LUCK! (like you really NEED it! :lol:):up: I will be sure to pass along greetings to your friend Jack. Had a nice chat with Adam last year--maybe I'm a "good luck charm". :roll: Getting psyched--I actually have a bit of an "official" role to play this year, which I hope will get me more back-bandstand access, although I find if you look like you know where you're going, and nod to people, they let you in practically anywhere. Sometime I'll regale you with the tale of my being mistaken for "Secret Service" during Nixon's second Innaugural Parade (I was actually a stationary marching band chaperone).
